About me:
I am a fully qualified French to English translator.
Qualifications:
I have an Honours degree in
French from Sussex University and the Diploma in Translation (French to
English) from The Chartered Institute of Linguists (www.iol.org.uk). The
postgraduate Diploma in Translation or ‘Dip Trans’ was introduced in 1989 as a ‘benchmark of professional standards’ for translators. The
General translation exam and two semi-specialised translation exams must be
passed to gain the Diploma. I took the Social Science and Business
semi-specialised options and gained a Distinction in the Business examination.
I only translate into my mother tongue – English – in accordance
with the Code of Conduct of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (www.iol.org.uk). I
was admitted as an Associate member of this organisation in 2005 and promoted
to full membership in 2007.
